Er wurde 1844 erbaut und steht auf den Grundmauern eines im 14. Jahrhundert errichteten Zollturms, des &#8222;Wei\u00dfen Turms&#8220;, welcher Teil der mittelalterlichen Stadtbefestigung war. Der wei\u00dfe Turm wurde 1689 w\u00e4hrend der Pf\u00e4lzischen Erbfolgekriege zerst\u00f6rt. Die Uhr stammt aus dem Jahr 1907. Die beiden Turmglocken wurden 1953 und 1989 aus Spenden finanziert.
