Das erste Kurhaus, ein sch\u00f6nes aber bescheidenes Geb\u00e4ude, wurde im Jahr 1810 erbaut. Als sich Wiesbaden im Laufe des 19. Jahrhunderts allm\u00e4hlich zur angesagtesten Kurstadt Deutschlands entwickelte, wurde beschlossen ein gr\u00f6\u00dferes, moderneres und repr\u00e4sentativeres Geb\u00e4ude zu errichten. So entstand in der Zeit von 1905 bis 1907 das neue neoklassizistische Kurhaus, wof\u00fcr das knapp hundert Jahre vorher errichtete Geb\u00e4ude weichen musste.
