Hier wird die Braunkohle mit riesigen Baggern im Tagebau abgebaut, der eine geradezu unvorstellbare Mondlandschaft hinterl\u00e4sst. Noch dehnt sich dieses Gebiet nach Norwesten hin aus. In unmittelbarer N\u00e4he befindet sich das Braunkohlekraftwerk Frimmersdorf, dessen imposante 160 m hohen Schornsteine, die passende Hintergrundkulisse bilden, um einen Ort zu zeigen, an dem man irgendwie nicht sein m\u00f6chte. (<a title=\"Braukohlerevier Garzweiler\" href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/yI8PA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Landkarte<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Wenn man erkennen m\u00f6chte, was f\u00fcr Giganten diese Bagger sind, dann achte man auf dem oberen Bild auf die kleine Planierraupe die links vorne vor dem Bagger unterwegs ist. Auch im unteren Bild ist der Gr\u00f6\u00dfenvergleich deutlich.<\/p>\n<p>Die Aufnahmen habe ich im Jahr 2005 aufgenommen. Damals trennte noch die Autobahn A44 die Gebiete Garzweiler I und II. Dort gab es auch noch die Ortschaft Otzenrath, die damals bereits nicht mehr bewohnt war und deren H\u00e4user vor dem Abriss standen. Es war damals ein gespenstisch anmutender Ort.
